The Bozeman Icedogs blew out their competition in another North American 3 Hockey League sweep this weekend.

The Icedogs topped the Missoula Bruins 8-2 on Friday night at home in the Hayes Pavilion and then dispatched the Helena Bighorns 7-3 in Helena on Saturday.

Luke Hartge had a five-point game on Friday with three goals and two assists to lead Bozeman in scoring. Will Kutch chipped in a goal and added three assists. Three other Icedog skaters had multiple-point nights as the Icedogs blasted 50 shots on Missoula’s goalie. Bozeman scored two goals in the first period and three more in the second and third.

On Saturday, Bozeman’s Luke McKay scored just 48 seconds into the game. The Icedogs then flew to a win as Hazen McKay recorded a hat trick and Hartge added two more goals and an assist.

“This weekend was the first one in awhile where we felt like we put two 60-minute games together,” Hartge said. “This weekend was a good stepping stone to next weekend where we have a good test against Sheridan. I’m extremely proud of our guys this weekend.”

The Icedogs are now sitting atop the Frontier Division with a 20-1 record. Their next games will be Friday and Saturday at home against the Sheridan Hawks, who are coming off a road sweep of Great Falls.
