After shutting out the Yellowstone Quake 4-0 at home on Friday night, the Bozeman Icedogs lost a close contest in a 1-0 loss against the Great Falls Americans in North American Three League junior hockey.

On Friday, goalie Conan Hayton earned the shutout, as Will Kutch led the charge with two goals. Duncan McGarrah and Luke McKay also joined Kutch on the score sheet.

During Saturday's game, Great Falls scored a first-period goal and an offensive stalemate followed as both teams were scoreless for the remainder of the game.

“Saturday was a great learning experience for us moving forward into (the) playoffs in the importance of showing up for all three periods. Great Falls played extremely well, and we ran into a hot goaltender on their end,” McGarrah said. “Conan Hayton also kept us in the game all night, giving us a chance to come back. The best thing we can do is take the positives from the weekend and clinch the division this weekend against a good Sheridan team.”

Bozeman still remains atop the Frontier Division with a two-point lead over Sheridan, which they play next week at home.
