The Bozeman Barracudas finished second with several standout performances during the short course state championships last week at University of Montana’s Grizzly Pool in Missoula.

Bozeman winners included: Julia Huffmaster (13-14 year old girls; 100 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 500 freestyle and 400 IM), Erin McKinney (17-21 year old girls; 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, 200 freestyle), Emery Belasco (11-12 year old boys; 50 breaststroke, 200 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 IM, 400 IM and 500 freestyle); Rylee McColley (13-14 year old girls; 100 breaststroke), Winston Sundeen (13-14 year old boys; 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 200 IM, 200 backstroke), Marcus Clapper (13-14 year old boys; 50 freestyle, 50 breaststroke), Jack Moser (15-16 year old boys; 100 freestyle), Georgia Gram (11-12 year old girls; 50 butterfly), Danika Varda (13-14 year old girls; 200 breaststroke), Annika Lawrence (15-16 year old girls; 100 backstroke), Finley O’Connor (8 years old and under boys; 25 freestyle, 25 backstroke, 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke, 100 IM, 50 butterfly), and Cavan O’Connor (10 years old and under boys; 50 freestyle, 50 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 IM, 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle).

O’Connor (50 butterfly), Huffmaster (200 freestyle), Carson Huckert (50 butterfly) and McKinney (50 breaststroke) all set team records as well.

Bozeman’s 10-year-old and under 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay teams with Finley O’Connor, Cavan O’Connor, Nicholai Kovensky and Ollie Belasco won. The 11-12 year old 400 freestyle, 200 IM and 200 freestyle teams with Alexander Clapper, Mateusz Kobaki, Jace Kopp Emery Belasco was placed first.
