Montana State defensive end Bryce Sterk was named one of 26 finalists for the Buck Buchanan Award, which goes to the top defensive player in the FCS.

Sterk led the Big Sky and was third in the FCS with 13.5 sacks and was second in the conference with 16.5 tackles for loss in the regular season. The 6-foot-5, 261-pound Lynden, Washington, product has 56 total tackles and three quarterback hurries. He totaled 2.5 sacks against Montana on Saturday.

MSU’s Caleb Schreibeis won the award in 2012, and Brad Daly did so in 2013.
