The Bozeman Creek has been listed as impaired for E.coli by the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) since 2006. The presence of bacteria has a number of causes, but all stem from fecal waste. The city's storm water system collects water from all points of the city and releases it into Bozeman Creek. Your children play in the creek; your dog drinks from the creek. Then the water is turned into our drinking water.

The city of Bozeman says there is not enough "outcry" from the public. That is why the Bozeman Creek is neglected, ugly, and dangerous. It's an election year, time to ask the people running for commissioner what their thoughts are on the subject and demand action. Drink up!
