Customers strolled by Ephie and Celia Risho’s booth at the back of Montana State University’s Brick Breeden Fieldhouse last month. The Bozeman Fall MADE Fair was an opportunity for the duo to present their latest fantasy book to an eager crowd.

“This event is so cool. Everybody here is coming to look at art and buy things as gifts and whatnot, and a lot of people don’t expect to see an author here,” Ephie said. “When they do, especially those who love the genre — they get sucked right in by the artwork.”

“Secret of the Kraken (The Elementalitsts, Book 3)” is the latest novel in a young adult fantasy series that 14-year-old Celia and her father Ephie first launched in the summer of 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
