Main Street will be buzzing with Bobcat pride Friday as the Montana State University president, marching band, cheer squad and a few athletes tour downtown.

The 10th annual Cat Walk will begin at 11 a.m. at First Interstate Bank on West Main Street. The event comes as the university prepares for fall semester. Freshmen will move into their dorms Wednesday, Freshman Convocation is Thursday and the first day of class is Monday.

President Waded Cruzado, the Spirit of the West marching band, student athletes and Champ Bobcat will move east down Main Street and visit a number of businesses along the way.

The event is free and open to the public, and all are invited to walk with the group.

A stop is planned for noon at Soroptimist Park off of Rouse Avenue and refreshments will be waiting. People will have a chance to get autographs from the athletes and hang out for 30 minutes.

The band will play the MSU fight song, Bobcat gear will be passed out and people can chat with President Cruzado.

After looping around all of Main Street, the tour will end at Wells Fargo Bank at 1 p.m.
