The Bozeman-based specialty headphone business HeadRoom has opened a store downtown after spending 20 years selling its products online.

The online business has helped the company open the store at 12 E. Main St., without a huge upfront cost, said Jamey Warren, president and CEO of HeadRoom, which is headquartered on North Church Avenue.

He said he didn't “have a plan or anything” when he picked up the store lease, but he felt the time was right for a headphone store. The headphone market has grown to a $2 billion a year industry, he said, citing figures from the market research organization IBISWorld.
