Noah Ray Cory

Noah Ray Cory, 19, appears via video Tuesday in Gallatin County Justice Court.

A Bozeman man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to having sex with a minor girl in the front seat of his car while choking and holding another girl in the backseat with a knife.

Noah Ray Cory, 19, is charged with sexual intercourse without consent and kidnapping, both felonies. If convicted, Cory could face up to life in prison and up to a $50,000 fine.

Cory is being held at the Gallatin County jail on $100,000 bail.

In January, a girl reported to Gallatin County sheriff’s deputies that she felt pressured to have sex with Cory at least four times when she was a minor and he was 18 years old, according to charging documents. She said she was under the age of 16, the age a person is legally able to consent in Montana, at that time.

She said she and another girl went to confront Cory at a parking lot. The girl said she got in the front seat and the other girl got in the backseat of his car.

Cory started having sex with her, police said in charging documents. The girl in the backseat tried leaving, but Cory held a knife to her throat, choked her and ordered them not to leave. He continued having sex with the girl in the front seat.

Cory admitted to a deputy to having sex with the girl while she was a minor, police said in charging documents. He also admitted to having sex with the girl in the parking lot and forcing another girl to stay in the backseat at knifepoint.
