Bail was set Thursday at $10,000 for a Bozeman man accused of raping a woman while she was sleeping.

Cole Timothy Parker, 21, is charged with felony sexual intercourse without consent. He appeared in Gallatin County Justice Court before Judge Rick West.

On Wednesday, Parker told detectives that he got drunk with the woman and some friends at his house on Ravalli Street in December. Parker said he and the woman then went to sleep in Parker’s bed, according to charging documents.

Court documents say the next morning Parker raped the woman while she was asleep. Parker told detectives that the woman then woke up and told him to stop.

If convicted, Parker could face up to a $50,000 fine and up to life in prison.
