Another new hotel could be gracing the Bozeman area with its presence in 2021.

Home 2 Suites by Hilton is in initial review with the city of Bozeman. According to project documents, Home 2 will be a four story, 103-room hotel with a swimming pool and a focus on extended-stay guests.

The hotel, at 1760 Baxter Ln., will be between Lowe’s and the intersection of Boot Hill Court and Baxter Lane.

“The best way to think about the Home 2 brand is it’s an efficiency extended stay hotel,” said Don Cape, the principal developer with JWT Restaurant Group, which also helped open the Home 2 Suites in Billings in 2016.

Cape said the guest rooms will have kitchenettes, a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and dishes for cooking and eating, as well as dresser, TV and workstation. As far as common areas, Cape said the hotel will have a full fitness center, swimming pool and an outdoor grill and barbecue area. Rooms will tentatively cost between $125 and $130 per night.

Cape said he expects construction to begin in mid-to-late spring and take roughly a year, giving the Home 2 a projected spring 2021 opening. The project has gone through several informal meetings with city planning, and Cape said he doesn’t expect any big obstacles or delays in the approval and building permits.

The neighboring hotel, Hilton Garden Inn, is also owned by JWT Restaurant Group.

“It just felt like a good synergy,” he said about the location. “If one hotel sells out, we can encourage guests to visit the sister property.”

The hotel will be the third Home 2 in the state, with one in Helena and one in Billings.
