A tradition returned in Miles City this weekend.

Hundreds turned out to enjoy the 2021 Miles City Bucking Horse Sale. The annual event was canceled last year due to COVID-19.

The four-day event kicked off Thursday with a concert and ended with a Match Bronc Ride on Sunday officially sanctioned by the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association for the first time. Thirty-two riders competed on Sunday for a prize of $32,500.

Saturday featured the annual Bucking Horse Sale Parade and a full day of horse races. And plenty of bronc riding.

Chronicle Photographer Rachel Leathe was there to capture the action.
