Belgrade’s newest gym has two notable owners: former Bobcats track athlete and basketball player Amanda Molock and former Bobcats football player Jonathan Molock.

The Cove Athletic Club officially opened on Oct. 23.

“Fitness has been our life,” said Amanda. After graduating from MSU in 2009, she worked as a nurse in Denver and then California, where she and Jonathan married and where they had their first of three sons. In 2015, the two moved back to her hometown of Belgrade.

Amanda said the gym already has a lot of young families as members, thanks in part to Cove Kids, where members can drop off kids during their workouts at the 14,000-square-foot gym. The Cove also offers a full roster of group fitness classes.

“I think that’s where we stand out,” she said of the classes.

The cycle classes are the most popular so far, Amanda said, especially because there’s a dedicated room in the gym for the bikes. Other popular classes are the dance exercise class Zumba and Pound, where participants get in shape while using neon drumsticks. The gym also offers a huge variety of workout equipment — free weights, treadmills and a sauna (although members are asked to bring their own towels).

The Cove has created 18 new jobs in Belgrade, including front desk staff, personal trainers and kids room staff. Amanda said she hopes to create a community with members and staff, including outdoor activities and gatherings once the gym’s outdoor landscaping is finished next year.

“The support from the community has been awesome,” she said. “It’s truly unbelievable.”

The Cove is at 59 Village Dr., in Belgrade. Information on classes, membership rates and more can be found on the Cove’s website, coveatheleticclub.com.
