Rialto rendering

Bozeman’s newly renovated Rialto theater is set to reopen in January.

Thinktank Design Group, the architecture firm heading up the project, had previously suggested that the historic theater in Bozeman would be open around the end of October.

The revamped theater is set to include a ground-floor “black box” style venue, which will accommodate up to 400 people and feature a mezzanine. The second floor will house a small, flexible dining space, named the Burn Box, as well as an adjacent art gallery stroke private event space.

As far as shows, organizers have said the venue will host a wide range, everything from spoken word poetry to comedy and well-known musicians.

The Rialto will kick off its reopening with a performance by indie rock band Hippo Campus on Jan. 16, 2018.

Built in 1908, the theater has been vacant since 2006. It was purchased in late 2015 by the investment group also responsible for the Lark Hotel.
