Montana State thrower Kyle Douglass’s strong campaign has continued outdoors.
After another impressive performance this past weekend, Douglass on Tuesday was named the Big Sky Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.
The senior continued his reign atop the Big Sky at California’s Beach Invitational on Saturday. Douglass earned an outdoor lifetime best in the shot put with a toss of 60 feet, 1.25 inches. He took fifth and his effort was good for second in program history.
A silver medalist at the conference indoor championships in February, Douglass now leads the Big Sky in shot put and discus. In the shot put, Douglass is ranked 15th in the West Region and 34th in Division I, while his discus is 26th in the region and 48th nationally.
Douglass has garnered this honor five times, including twice during the indoor season.
