Carl Erickson's supply trip, 1949

During the winter of 1949, Carl Erickson hitched his team of horses and headed toward Belgrade for supplies for his family and neighbors. Along the way, a neighbor offered to give the horses a break and suggested he could hook the sled to his Caterpillar tractor and pull it the rest of the way to town and back. Pictured are Carl Erickson, Bill Reeder, Frank Herdina and Darleen (Erickson) McMillan. (Submitted by Darleen McMillan and published in "The Gallatin Collection, Vol. 2")
