Update, 10:21 p.m. - Manhattan 61, Shepherd 41 - Manhattan is heading back to its first Class B state championship game since 2003. The Tigers beat Shepherd, 61-41, behind 25 points and 15 rebounds from Tanner Hupka and Quinn McQueary's 15 points and 12 rebounds.


Update, 10:19 p.m. - Malta 67, Florence-Carlton 61 - A fourth-quarter steal by Zach Handley led to a fastbreak Kendall Denham and the Mustangs hit three of four foul shots in the last 22 seconds to clinch the victory. Denham (21) and Handley (20) combined for 41 points while Aaron Ward scored 27 and added 12 rebounds for Florence-Carlton.


Update, 4:46 p.m. - Fairfield 71, Deer Lodge 47 - The Eagles started the game off and running, taking a quick 9-1 lead and holding the Wardens to six first-quarter points. The Wardens (13-12) pulled within 20-14, but Fairfield (21-4) responded with a 16-0 run to take control again.


Friday Update, 2:01 p.m. - Whitehall 65, Lodge Grass 61 - The Whitehall Trojans fought off a furious rally by Lodge Grass for a 65-61 victory on Friday afternoon at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. Whitehall held a 58-48 advantage with just over five minutes to play but needed two free throws in the final 40 seconds to fend off Lodge Grass in the loser-out contest of the Class B state tournament. Whitehall (17-10) advances to play Saturday at 11 a.m. for the right to go to the third-place game.


Update, 9:23 p.m. - Manhattan 51, Fairfield 37 - The Manhattan Tigers used a late 12-1 run to take hold of the Class B state first-round game against Fairfield on Thursday. The Tigers won, 51-37, after outscoring Fairfield 19-6 in the final eight minutes of play. Despite having just three players score all night, Manhattan got double-doubles from Tanner Hupka (28 points, 11 rebounds) and Quinn McQueary (17 points, 11 rebounds). Cale Howells chipped in six for the Tigers.


Update: 4:06 p.m. - Malta 51, Whitehall 47 - The Malta Mustangs overcame game-long deficit with an 8-0 run to open the fourth quarter and held the Whitehall Trojans to 10 points in the final quarter of a 51-47 first-round Class B tournament victory on Thursday afternoon at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.


Update: 2:05 p.m. - Florence-Carlton 76, Lodge Grass 66 - The Florence-Carlton Eagles hit 10 of 12 free throws in the final 1 minute, 8 seconds of the game to hold off a 3-point happy Lodge Grass Indian squad in a 76-66 victory at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in the first round of the Class B boy's basketball state tournament.

F-C led from beginning to end, taking advantage of 14 offensive rebounds

for 18 second-chance points. The Falcons made their third straight Class B

semifinal game behind Aaron Ward's 27 points and 12 rebounds. Lodge Grass was led by Darren Singer's 20 points.
