MANHATTAN — Manhattan’s volleyball team wrapped up their season about a month ago. The Tigers had another successful season, reaching the Southern B Divisional tournament.
Members of Belgrade High School’s soccer teams were honored recently for their efforts this past season.
Following another tremendous season, which resulted in a sixth straight appearance at the state Class C tournament, three members of Manhattan Christian’s volleyball team received postseason honors.
Not many linemen have an opportunity to score a rushing touchdown. Manhattan’s Chase Barta got that chance, taking a brief break from his linemen position to score during in a first round State B playoff game against Columbus.
Manhattan had eight of its football players rewarded for their successful season by being named to the District 5B all-conference team. Three of them were named to the All-State squad.
Following another very successful season, four of Belgrade’s volleyball players received postseason honors.
When the District 5B all-conference volleyball honors were released there were a couple surprises. One was Three Forks’ Morgan Allen, who was named to the second team. All the sophomore did was lead Three Forks in kills with 280 and was one of the more dominant front row players in the league.
A standout three-sport athlete at Belgrade, Kindall Bethke had plenty of options as her high school career winds down. The 18-year-old senior officially made up her mind last week.
BOZEMAN — There will be no trophy at the state volleyball tournament this year for Manhattan Christian. The Eagles took home the third place trophy in 2013 and finished as the state runner up a year ago behind Gardiner.
BOZEMAN — The season came to an en earlier than hoped, but Belgrade’s volleyball team sure went down fighting Friday afternoon in Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.
