Volunteering in Kenya this summer with Engineers Without Borders, Joe Thiel got some proposals from villagers who suggested he might marry their daughters. He politely declined, pointing out that he’s already engaged.

Last week, Thiel got a proposal he was far more eager to accept – an appointment from Gov. Brian Schweitzer as the new student regent on the Montana Board of Regents.
