Bozeman School Board agrees to close employee day care in cost-cutting move

The Bozeman School Board voted Monday to eliminate the jobs of eight Hawks Nest day care workers, the first belt-tightening move in a district facing a budget shortfall next school year of more than $850,000.

The school district will find some way to continue offering day care for the children of teenage parents in the Bridger Alternative Program at Bozeman High School, as it has done for 20 years, Superintendent Kirk Miller said.
