A Bozeman man struck and killed by a truck while trying to cross Huffine Lane on Friday has been identified.

Stanley A. Skovronski, 49, was hit just before 8 a.m. while trying to cross Huffine Lane near its intersection with Shedhorn Drive, the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office said.

The Chevy truck’s 42-year-old driver, who was eastbound at the time, said he didn’t see Skovronski in time and was unable to avoid the accident, Montana Highway Patrol said.

Skovronski was transported to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Montana Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation of the accident.
