Longfellow Elementary School will continue its year-end tradition of celebrating the arts with its annual ArtWorks Festival and Fundraiser on Friday, May 14, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Longfellow School on South Tracy Avenue.

ArtWorks is a year round, parent-funded arts program culminating in the Artworks Festival each May. Students collaborate with teachers, artists-in-residents, parents, and each other to create individual and group works to sell. Items range from canvas bags to mirrors, chairs and dressers. Money raised helps fund artists in residence and other programs and buy art supplies throughout the school year.

The ArtWorks Festival begins with a barbecue from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a performance of Longfellow's All School Choir and the fifth-grade band and orchestra. The silent auction begins at 5 and ends around 8 p.m. The live auction begins at 6:30 p.m. Individual musical performances and activities geared to children will go on throughout the evening.

This year, Longfellow artists-in-residence have included Bozeman's Equinox Theatre Company, The Dance Center and several local artists who work with the kids on specific art pieces and art mediums.
