A 20-year-old Belgrade woman died in a car accident on Norris Road on Saturday at 3:40 p.m., according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

The woman, whose name has not yet been released, was traveling east in a Pontiac Grand Am when, for an unknown reason, she drifted onto the right side of the highway and then overcorrected to the left, crossing into the oncoming lane of traffic where she collided with a Dodge pickup truck driven by a 42-year-old man from Idaho.

The woman was dead when emergency responders arrived and the man was transported to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital with non-life threatening head injuries.

Alcohol was a factor in the crash but speed was not, the highway patrol said.
