The Montana State University Leadership Institute presents a free Oscar-nominated documentary film, "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room" on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. in MSU's Procrastinator Theatre, 125 Linfield Hall.
Top executives from Enron, the seventh largest company in the country, walked away with over one billion dollars, leaving investors and employees stripped to nothing. The documentary breaks down the scandal that's complicity even had many of its own employees naive to its undertakings.
How did the events of the greatest business scandal in history unfold? The common perception of “a good corporation that went bad" faces a series of critiques as the film reveals a corporation whose corruption originated in its beginnings. The aftermath of this financial crime has not subsided as the scandal continues to shape the economy today.
This event is free and open to the public.
