Beer fest set for April 6 at fairgrounds
The First Annual Montana Beer Festival is set for 5 p.m. to midnight Friday, April 6, at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $20 and are on sale now.
Salute Northern Rockies craft beers at the event. More than 75 beers will be on tap from over 20 breweries from Montana and the Northern Rockies. The evening will include Equinox Theater's Broad Comedy Broads, the Ultimate Johnny Cash Tribute Band, the Bozeman Chord Rustlers, Montana honkytonk band 10 Foot Tall & 80 Proof and the largest beer Bingo parlor in the state.
There will be door prizes for the first 800 attendees and everyone receives a signature 6-ounce pilsner glass with each ticket. This Made-in-Montana event will feature signature pint glasses and t-shirts, professional homebrew coaching and much more. Food will be available and will include halibut chowder, stuffed peppers and special Montana beer brats made with Moose Drool and Bozone Beer.
The Montana Beer Festival Judging Panel will award Bronze Pint, Silver Growler and Gold Keg medals for the Best Montana craft beer, best overall and best IPA, which is the featured craft beer of the year. There will also be a people's choice awards.
Porterhouse Productions, Moonlight Basin and the Bozeman Daily Chronicle have teamed up to create the Montana Beer Fest's designated driver program. A bus will be available to pick folks up at the fairgrounds and safely drop them off around downtown Bozeman from 6 p.m.-midnight.
Proceeds will benefit the Montana Food Bank Network and food donations for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank will be accepted.
