Offense taken at legislator's characterization of blogs
In response to Walt Williams profile on Rep. Koopman published Aug. 25, I have to express my dismay in the Chronicle glorifying a lawmaker that is desperate for attention, and obviously trying to stay in the limelight now that the legislative session is closed. I was also personally offended by his comments on progressive blogs.
I am a student who has found a way to follow politics on a more personal level through the use of the Internet and blogs, and I have criticized Rep. Koopman before on my blog. However, I am very offended that he referred to blogs such as mine as "hate blogs."
Rep. Koopman there is a very big difference between a hate blog and blogs that offer criticism, and of all people you should know the difference. You parade around criticizing everyone who does not agree with your conservative philosphies. Does that make you hateful? You are not above criticism Rep. Koopman, and you need to be aware of that.
