Bozeman man's former company sells for big bucks

A Web site started by a Bozeman resident recently made big bucks when it was purchased by News Corp, one of the world's largest entertainment companies.

Yarrow Kraner started Superdudes.net out of his garage while living in Los Angeles in 1999. About a year ago, he sold it to Intermix Media Inc.

Earlier this week News Corp bought Intermix and the Superdudes Web site for $580 million. Kraner, who still owned stock in the site, said he saw it double from $6 to $12 dollars per share in a single day.

"It's fantastic news," he said. "It also happens at a time when Superdudes Europe is going to launch."

Superdudes is a site that allows kids to turn themselves into superheroes with games and customizable cards. It encourages kids to help out their communities through volunteerism.

Kraner now heads HatcHfest, a Bozeman movie and entertainment festival.
