Give me a break
Response to Kerry White's column of Feb. 9:
As John Stossal might say, "Give Me a Break," Mr. White. You really need to check the dictionary for the precise meaning of natural instinct. This is the world of the wolf! To state that it is capable of idle cruelty, wanton killing and knowingly creating hatred among humans is ludicrous. These are known traits of humans, i.e., the buffalo that once roamed the prairies in the millions are all gone due to humans.
Yes, cattle are being killed by wolves, but the drought, low birth rate and other predators factor in this equation. I would like to see solid evidence of a child that has been killed by wolves. Not to mention the information that 710 wolves can eat tons of meat in the five to seven years it's taken for them to recover enough to form packs.
Your credentials speak volumes about what you stand for. No wolves, no wild places, no restrictions in Yellowstone Park in winter, and last of all no right to think and speak for me and the rest of the people that have a say about all the above mentioned subjects.
Last of all, have the facts right, and write about both sides of the subjects mentioned. KEEP AN OPEN MIND!
